Return to Silent Hill - The new Silent Hill movie
The movie is written by Fans, Sandra Vo-Anh (who collaborated with Gans on Beauty and the Beast), and William Josef Schneider. Furthermore, the movie is based on the Silent Hill 2 video game, according to Deadline.
Silent Hill 2 is a survival horror video game in which the protagonist, James Sunderland, seeks his late wife in the foreboding town of Silent Hill. While exploring the town, James sees weird creatures and discovers horrible revelations about his past and the true circumstances of his wife's death.
The new Silent Hill film will feature James (Irvine), a man torn apart by the loss of his one true love (Anderson). When he returns to Silent Hill in search of her after receiving a mystery letter, he discovers a once-recognizable town altered by an unseen evil.
As James descends deeper into the darkness, he encounters horrific figures both familiar and unfamiliar to him, and he begins to doubt his own sanity as he battles to make sense of reality and clings on long enough to save his lost love.
The director of the movie, Gans said, “Return to Silent Hill is a mythological love story about someone so deeply in love, they’re willing to go to hell to save someone”. Further, he continued, “I’m delighted to have the wonderful talents of both Jeremy Irvine and Hannah Emily Anderson take us on this journey into a psychological horror world that I hope will both satisfy and surprise fans of Silent Hill.”
